Then about a week ago Troy read online a suggestion to also take off the bike pedals so she would learn to balance herself. Zada has been practicing coasting down our street, catching herself with her shoes as needed and then wide-walking her bike back uphill. She was really gaining confidence with this method and when Troy brought the kids home from our weekend in Duluth she was ready to try the 12" blue bike with pedals, no training wheels. She now does laps around our neighborhood's double cul-de-sac and goes like the devil's on her tail.
Darby seems a bit put-out that she is using his bike all the time, but we suspect it's only a matter of time before she's ready to ride her pink bike again and as further enticement Troy and Zada picked up a new set of purple streamers for the handlebars.
I'll try to get video this week. In the meantime...
