Open skating
Kids and I went skating Sunday at the community center. Zada had no trouble picking up where she left off from lessons last year. Darby tried so hard and got back up every time he fell. I was very pleased with both of them.

Yes ma'm!
Zada offered to make lunch for me and Darby after church today. I can make peanut butter toast sandwiches for all of us, she said. Done!

Darby's new scarf
So we used Darby's scarf on the snowgal, meaning that he has been without one throughout this frigid week. He's been a good sport about it, gamely borrowing my scarf or Zada's, but as good as he looks in pink fuzziness, I opted to make him a new boy scarf.
I think he likes it!

Lunchin'
Met the boys at Lifetime for a workout and lunch. They stayed to play a little basketball and I went home for a shower (and nap-shhh!).

Pain is gain
After a particularly intense workout yesterday, I can barely move today. Stairs soar before me, toilets loom below me and my shoe choices are limited to slip-ons only.

Moving forward
To be frank, I've been a less than ideal mother this week. Starting Sunday I was laid low by a major respiratory bug, and then Wednesday morning I received the sad news that my Auntie Mary had passed away after a drawn-out battle with cancer.
This afternoon, when the kids were fussing about one thing or another, I pushed us all outside with our play clothes on. We commenced making one friendly-faced snow gal, and by the end she wasn't the only one smiling.

A letter
Dear Clutter,
Although we will try to keep the Christmas spirit all year through, the holidays themselves are over. Consider this your warning.

Hidden pictures anyone?
Darby received his February issue of High Five and immediately commenced looking at the Hidden Pictures page.
