if the builders on bobcats, who graded out the yards in our neighborhood, had righteous slip and slide runs in mind. It seems like they did and we all love it!

Give peas a chance

We're growing just a couple veggies this year, including sugar snap peas. We collected our first harvest tonight and are hopeful of one or two more!

That's a sham

I made my first sham for the guest bedroom today. I feel pretty happy with it and am almost ready to make a second one (why would I ever agree to two?). Maybe I'll have some deli tortellini salad to regroup and recharge.

Midwest tour, part 2

Where was I? Oh yeah, in Indiana!

It's been such an exciting week for our family! Troy's sister had her baby, Lucas James, Monday and we have been glued to all our screens for photos of that sweetheart. But here are some slightly older darlings.

Midwest tour, part 1

Have you ever felt like you needed a vacation after your vacation? Goodness, it's taken me a while to get myself together this week, my apologies. 

The first stop on our midwest tour last week was Illinois, where we watched fireworks, took boat rides, went swimming, ate Chex® Mix, drank Diet Coke ® and generally had a whale of a time. Here are some of my favorite photos. 

Grandpa Rod took a break from his fireworks duties to get silly with Darby.

This was at least the seventh attempt to get a nice photo of the four of us.

Before going to sleep at Brian and Danielle's I checked on the kids. Expecting to find them each in his or her own bed, I was surprised to see this.
